Unleash your inner Viking and experience the thrill of axe throwing in the stunning surroundings of St Osyth Priory.


Meet with our Estate Ranger, Trevor, before making your way through our magnificent estate to the axe throwing range. During this one-hour experience, you’ll learn the fundamentals of axe throwing, from handling the equipment safely to perfecting your technique and hitting the target.


Whether you’re completely new to axe throwing or looking to improve your skills, this exciting outdoor experience is a unique way to enjoy the estate, try something different and create unforgettable memories.


During your session, you will learn:

  • How to safely handle and use an axe
  • The correct throwing technique and stance
  • How to aim and improve your accuracy
  • Range safety and best practices
  • Tips and techniques to help you hit the target consistently


Duration: Approximately 1 hour

Location: St Osyth Priory Estate

Minimum age: You must be at least 12 years old to participate. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.

TERMS & CONDITIONS


Guest Requirement: This experience is exclusively available to guests staying at St Osyth Priory and is not open to non-residents.

Minimum Age: Participants must be 12 years or over. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Arrival Information: A member of our team will contact you the day before your experience with full instructions, including your meeting point, arrival time and any additional information you may need.

Clothing: Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe, sturdy footwear. High heels, sandals and flip-flops are not suitable for this activity.

Health & Safety: Participants must follow all instructions provided by the Estate Ranger at all times. Axes must only be handled and thrown when instructed to do so. Safety is our highest priority, and anyone acting in an unsafe manner may be asked to leave the session without a refund.

Safety Requirements & Participant Responsibilities: All participants must:

  • Listen carefully and follow all instructions given by the Estate Ranger and St Osyth Priory team members.
  • Use all equipment only as instructed.
  • Follow all safety rules and remain within designated areas.
  • Behave responsibly and respectfully throughout the experience.

Medical Conditions: Please inform us in advance of any medical conditions, injuries or mobility requirements that may affect your participation, particularly any conditions affecting your grip, balance or movement.

Weather: Axe Throwing is an outdoor activity and will usually take place in most weather conditions. In the event of severe weather, St Osyth Priory reserves the right to postpone or cancel the session. An alternative date or suitable arrangement will be offered where possible.

Equipment: All archery equipment is provided by St Osyth Priory and must only be used under the supervision and guidance of the Estate Ranger. Participants must not misuse, damage or remove any equipment from the designated activity area.

Photography: Photographs may be taken during the experience for promotional purposes. Please inform a member of the team on arrival if you do not wish to be included.

Booking Terms: Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable unless the experience is cancelled by St Osyth Priory.
