Weddings at St OSyth Priory
Luxury abounds at our historic wedding venue
Create your own piece of history with a beautiful wedding at the impressive St Osyth Priory. The priory, set in 350 acres of parkland on the Tendring peninsular, is among the most important historic sites in England. It was founded in about 1120 as a home for Augustinian canons and was one of the largest religious houses in Essex. The priory has hosted royalty with Queen Elizabeth I having visited the priory twice in 1561 and 1579 and today, the priory has 16 listed buildings which are being lovingly restored. As a licensed wedding venue, couples can choose to make their vows at the priory, including in the Abbots Tower ruins or the beautifully restored Gallery. The impressive Great Hall in Darcy House can accommodate up to 110 seated guests for a wedding ceremony while the ornate Gallery can host up to 110 guests for the wedding breakfast. Brides and grooms can stay in the luxurious privacy of the Gatehouse after the celebrations while family and friends can choose from accommodation, ranging from the magnificent Darcy West to the charming Bailiffs Cottage.

"We had the most perfect October wedding at St Osyth Priory. From start to finish, the venue was absolutely stunning and created the most magical atmosphere for our day. The food was beautiful and received so many compliments, and every single one of our guests was completely wowed by the setting as majority of our guests hadn’t heard of the venue prior to our wedding."
